Ever had one of those days?

I think we've all had one of those days when things don't go quite're just in a bad mood...and everyone around you just seems to rub you the wrong way.  Well, thankfully, this is not one of those days for me!  But sooner or later, we all have them, and Tracy and Connie have cooked up a great kit for scrapping those not-so-hot moments.

The thing that I really love about this kit is that while there's enough to scrap those frustrating moments, there's enough in here to scrap other pages as well.  Although I have to say...if you haven't documented the struggles in life, I think you're missing out.  I've heard people say that they don't want to remember the bad times, but those are the times that really make us who we are.  Scrap the good and the bad...and you can do both with this kit!

I used the kit to scrap some old photos of Miss R during one of her toddler tantrums...we don't have many of these photos, because she would almost always cheer up as soon as I pulled out the camera.

With that, I have some errands to run, so I'll say goodbye, God bless, and happy scrapping!

I'm not usually a very emotional type of person.  And I'm not much of a crier unless there are animals or children being hurt...and then let the waterworks flow.  But for this month's GGI event at Gotta Pixel, my sweet friend Tracy created a kit called Remembering You.

Now, that particular title does bring to mind a commercial that makes me cry...but that's beside the point.  I was using her kit to scrap about my Uncle Don, who was ten feet tall in my eyes when I was a kid.  He was a Vietnam vet who picked up his best friend's body parts and carried them back to base.  He was a cowboy...a real one.  He loved kids, he loved his family.  He was Loretta Lynn's biggest fan.

And he was killed when I was in the 7th grade.  He was only 38.  He went to bed in his own house, and a drunken driver chose to get behind the wheel of her truck, and then found up flying through the air and crashing through his house, sending him through a wall and crushing him to death.  When I turned 38 a few years ago, it hit me that I was at the age that he was when he was could that be?  He was such a giant in my could I now be his age?  A lot of memories came flooding back as I scrapped, and some tears came too.  And that's okay.  The memories of his life were good, even if the memories of his death were painful.  It's good to remember, and I definitely want future generations to know about him.

Thanks for looking...thanks for listening, and please remember to tell those in your life how much they mean to you.  You never know if you'll have another chance.  God bless, and happy scrapping.

Are You Brave?

I'm not!  But my daughter, like one of her new favorite princesses, definitely is.  Lately she has been using the lyrics from some VBS songs and telling me that she doesn't have to be afraid of things...she just has to "trust in God."  Amen, girl, that's right!
Now, about that new favorite princess...Merida.  From Disney/Pixar's Brave.  She will most likely be finding her way to Rachel's backpack...and Barbie collection...and T-shirt drawer...and so on and so on.  And if you have a Brave fan at your house, and you're a scrapbooker (and that's probably the only reason you'd find your way to my blog!), then you might be interested in Trixie's new kit!  She has hooked up with the Queen of Disney-inspired kits, Britt of Britt-ish Designs to create Change Your Fate.

Eeeek!  How awesome is this!!!  I have been wanting to share this all's been a hard secret to keep!  I don't have any Brave pics yet...but they are coming, no doubt!  I did use the kit's a page all about mom (she's pretty brave too IMO)

I'll check back in with all of you later...God bless and happy scrapping!
